“My role is to work with you in creating memories. The ceremony is over all too soon and it is the “Memories of the Ceremony”, which will last.” – Geoff Abbott

Wedding Celebrant Services

celebrant servicesGeoff Abbott was appointed as an independent marriage and civil union celebrant in 2014. A far cry from your typical accountant or business advisor, Geoff decided to become a celebrant because he loves to help people. It’s one of the many ways Geoff gives back to his local community. His relaxed, caring nature shines through all his services, which always focus on the individuals in the ceremony.

The first step is to get in touch. Contact Geoff by phone or email to set up an initial meeting. Geoff can come to you, meet somewhere for coffee, or have a chat on Skype. The initial meeting usually takes 15-30 minutes and is free of charge. This is an opportunity to see if we’re a good fit for each other and get your questions answered. The next step is to complete a simple booking confirmation and payment of deposit. Geoff can provide some suggestions and arrange the next meeting.

We’ll work in with what you want. If you’d like us to put together a service for you, help you create your vows or just run through the formalities and legal requirements, we can do that too. We offer services for both traditional and gay marriages. Get in touch with us today to find out more.

Funeral and Related Services

funeral servicesGeoff Abbott is also available for funerals, memorial services and other events including headstone unveiling, ashes and other life events deserving celebration. Geoff understands that there is only one opportunity to have this important ceremony, and views his role as making it be what you want. Geoff has the utmost respect and honour in his approach, including the religious or spiritual beliefs of the person.

Firstly, we’ll meet with the family to listen, gather information, ask questions and understand each person involved. We’ll discuss how the service will run and if necessary, we can provide suggestions as to readings, music and poems.

“When someone dies the need is to honour and respect their views and beliefs as well as those of their family and friends. A funeral is an occasion to mourn a death, to celebrate a life, and to bring comfort to the living.”
